Is Donny Van De Beek Unhappy at Manchester United?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

The 23-year-old Dutch midfielder Donny Van De Beek is currently said to be unhappy with his role at Manchester United. He has denied taking part in interviews till he is assured of his place at the club.

Netherland’s legend and midfielder, Frank de Boer has advised him to pack his bags and search for another club.

Donny van de Beek joined Manchester United in the summer transfer window. He was the first signing made by the Red Devils this season. His arrival had generated excitement as well as confusion among the fans and the pundits.

The confusion was related to where he would be playing. Bruno Fernandes, who has cemented his spot, won’t be dropped at all. And that is the position where Donny usually plays his best.

De Beek made his move to the Premier League giants for £40 million in September. In doing so, he became the 13th Dutch to move to Old Trafford. Long-time United goalkeeper and legend, Edwin van der Sar, who is the chief executive of Ajax helped in the smooth transition of the process, which he might now be regretting.

He was a part of the Eredivise team that reached the Champions League semi-final and also that won the domestic double. He was a crucial part of that team and was highly rated there. His performance earned him a spot in the 30-players shortlisted list for the 2018-19 season’s Ballon d’Or.

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER INSISTS THAT DE BEEK IS IN HIS PLANS:

Manchester United’s boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has grown frustrated by the continuous pestering from the media where he had mentioned multiple times that Donny will be getting his time.

“I’ve answered this question so many times. There are so many examples of players needing a little bit of time, quality players.

We have many examples ourselves and there are other clubs with examples. Sometimes it takes time.

You don’t expect people who care for him to be quiet at times, especially when they want the best for them.

Donny is going to play tomorrow, that’s another chance for him.

I’ve spoken to him and reiterated and made him aware of how much we rate him. But he’ll play tomorrow and that’s another good chance to kick on.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said ahead of their FA Cup clash against Watford

Overall, the midfielder has made 20 appearances so far for United, scoring 1 and assisting 1. He scored his first goal in his debut match against Crystal Palace, which United lost 3-1.

United has been knocked out of the Champions League. They lost the EFL Cup semi-final again, against Manchester City. They are currently 2nd in the Premier League with a game in hand, which if they win can top the group.

Manchester United will be facing Watford for the 3rd round fixture of the FA Cup at Old Trafford. If as said by Ole, Donny is to start, it will be up to the Dutch to give a stellar performance that will make it difficult for Ole to drop him.
