One Chelsea player is keen to rejoin his former club. The Blues are already ready to part ways with him this summer. The player is already away from West London on loan.
The star in question here is Joao Felix who joined the Blues last summer. Chelsea signed him for second time and this time on permanent basis. They paid £42 million to Atletico to secure his services. But, the deal did not went as per plans.
Felix played 20 games in the first half of the season. But, he did not start many of them. Despite scoring 7 goals and picking 2 assists, he was not the first-choice player for Enzo Maresca. In addition, he had to play in his unnatural position.
As a result, Felix demanded more minutes from Maresca in January. The Italian was unable to guarantee him that and hence Felix opted to move away. He joined AC Milan on loan and had an amazing start to his career in Italy.
However, Felix experienced dip in the form and has fallen down the pecking order. AC Milan have no intention to sign him on permanent transfer this summer. Hence, he will be sent back to West London at the end of the season.
Chelsea star keen to join Benfica
Felix is looked upon by Portugese giants Benfica ahead of summer window. They want to sign him on loan before the Fifa Club World Cup. According to Record, Felix is also keen to rejoin his former club at the end of the season.
Chelsea are ready to part ways with Felix permanently this summer. It will be interesting to see if they accept Benfica’s proposal to sign Felix on loan. They might reject the offer in order to sell him and raise funds for new signings. They can aslo opt to send him on loan but will insert an obligation to buy.
