Manchester United will sign French wonderkid Enzo Kana-Biyik, as per reports

The teenage striker will join the Old Trafford club from Le Havre as a free agent. His club failed to convince him to sign new deal in Normandy.

The France U-18 striker has come to an agreement to join Man Utd. This comes after talks with the club progressed in recent weeks, as reported by The Mail.

According to Le Parisien, the youngster and his family are confident in Red Devil’s development plan.

He has a great record with the Under-19s. Kana-Biyik played 17 games with nine goals and one assist. These numbers sparked the interest of scouts at Manchester Utd.

The teenager is the son of Cameroonian football legend André Kana-Biyik. And he is now looking to make his own path in Europe’s top leagues.

United’s Long-Term Bet Heads to Switzerland First

While Kana-Biyik’s move is a big step, he won’t be featuring at Old Trafford right away. The striker will spend his first season as a loan player with Lausanne-Sport, a Swiss team owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS. The same INEOS that now holds a minority stake in Manchester United.

Ultimately, the premise is to allow the youngster regular first-team football in a competitive environment. It is with intention that he grows into a player that will meet the demands of the Premier League.

There are not many clubs like Le Havre, who can produce the system of elite first-team players. That, as we know, includes top-level footballers like Paul Pogba, Riyad Mahrez, Dimitri Payet, etc.

United will hope that Kana-Biyik can replicate some or all of what these players have done in the coming years. He has a well-structured path and the right support he needs. This move could prove to be a smart long-term investment for the Red Devils.
