Chelsea working to sign yet another Premier League attacker

Chelsea have signed as much as 3 attackers this summer. But, they are still not done as they are working to land yet another attacking star. The player has already proved in Premier League and is wanted by 2 other English clubs.

Chelsea have signed Liam Delap as new striker this summer. Recently, they have completed the signing of Joao Pedro. In addition, they have almost wrapped up the signing of Jamie Gittens. But, the Blues are not done here in terms of improving their attacking unit.

Chelsea keen to sign Ghana international

According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea are keen to sign Mohammed Kudus. He is 24 year old Ghanaian attacker who plays for West Ham United. Earlier, the Blues tried to sign him for £50 million. But, the offer was quickly rejected by Hammers.

Despite their initial offer getting rejected, Chelsea are still keen to sign Kudus. Phillips has said that they are working to land 24 year old right now. But, the Blues need to act fast as Tottenham Hotspur are advancing on the deal.

Kudus has given green light to join Spurs this summer. He has £85 million release clause but Hammers can agree to a deal below that. It is said that £65 million can be enough to get the deal over the line. Kudus also has interest from Newcastle United where Eddie Howe wants quality attackers.

Kudus can play in variety of positions. He can be a great addition to any of the top clubs. He had a very good start to his career in England. But, the 24 year old experienced drastic dip in his form in the latest season. However, he is very young and can surely bounce back.

Chelsea have many attacking options at the club right now. Signing Kudus can increase doubts about current player’s game time. Hence, they need to focus on selling before signing new players. This may result in Kudus turning down to sign for them due to doubts over regular game time.
