Chelsea plan to send young and talented striker on loan

Chelsea to go all out to sign Nigerian

Chelsea now have many striker options available at the club. Hence, they are keen to send one of them out on loan. This can be very important in player’s improvement as he will not get regular game-time at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had Nicolas Jackson as main striker last season. But, the Senegal international was not consistent due to which Blues signed Liam Delap. Later, they opted to sign Joao Pedro who can play in different positions but his natural position is number nine.

Hence, the Blues now have 3 senior stars as striker options. However, there is yet another player who has recently been forgotten. The star in question is Marc Guiu. He is 19 year old Spanish star whom the Blues signed for only €6 million from Barcelona last summer.

Chelsea keen to send Marc Guiu on loan

Marc Guiu played 14 games across all competitions last season. But, he was not a regular starter. He did start many games in Conference League where he did not disappoint. The 19 year old scored 6 goals in 9 Conference League games for Blues and later lifted the trophy.

But, Guiu has now fallen down the pecking order even further. He will be the fourth choice striker due to arrival of Delap and Pedro. As a result, the Blues have different plan for him. According to The Telegraph, they are keen to send him away on loan this summer.

A loan move can be a very good option for Guiu. He can play regularly there and this will help him in improvement. As of now, he is wanted by Ipswich Town as a replacement for Delap. On the other hand, Strasbourg is another option as it is Chelsea’s sister club. But, the Blues have only 1 spot left there and they may plan to use that for Mike Penders.
