Chelsea ready to spend highly on Premier League attacker

Chelsea have started the summer transfer window on a very strong note. They have signed 3 attackers so far. But, they are unwilling to stop just here. As per the latest reports, they are ready to spend highly on yet another Premier League attacker.

Chelsea signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town at the start of summer window. He costed them only £30 million due to Ipswich Town getting relegated. They have now signed Joao Pedro for £60 million. Lastly, they are also close to sign Jamie Gittens who is likely to cost them around £50-55 million.

However, the Blues are still not done in their attacking signings. They are showing strong interest in one more Premier League star. The star in question here is Mohammed Kudus of West Ham United. Chelsea are keen to sign him but are joined by Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in the race.

“Chelsea are the latest one who are looking to make a move, and Tottenham are speaking to him too. With Chelsea it feels like they can spend endless amount of money and are prepared to do so” – Mick Brown speaking to Football Insider about Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus has £85 million release clause in his current contract. He had a very good first season with West Ham. But, his form has dipped drastically in the recent season. Hence, Hammers are open to sell him for less than his release clause. He is still expected to cost around £60 million.

Chelsea need to act fast in pursuit of Kudus

The Blues need to act fast if they are keen to sign Kudus. The player is open to move away from West Ham. He has interest from multiple top clubs. As of now, he is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur. The 24 year old has given green light to Spurs move.

On the other hand, Newcastle United are also keen to sign Kudus. They want some top attackers this summer. Eddie Howe will part ways with underperforming players and will want to replace them as soon as possible. He is keen to go further in both Premier League and Champions League next season.
