Nottingham Forest plotting sensational swoop for Jadon Sancho. The club is now seriously considering a headline move for the out-of-favour Manchester United winger.
Forest Target Sancho as Elanga Replacement
Nottingham Forest are back in the mix for Jadon Sancho, this time with serious intent. They missed out on him during the last window. Now, Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis is reportedly ready to make a big deal to bring the Englishman to the City Ground.
Sancho is currently frozen out at Manchester United. He has returned for pre-season but remains unwanted at Old Trafford. This comes following last season’s public fallout with Erik ten Hag. The £73m signing has found himself training away from the main squad.
Forest now see Jadon as the ideal replacement for Anthony Elanga. Elanga has recently joined Newcastle. He had a brilliant run last season and became a fan favourite before his exit. He is leaving a big gap in the squad. Forest hope Sancho can step into that role.
A Fresh Start for the Winger
Sancho has certainly had his stick, career-wise. He scored 50 goals and 64 assists at Borussia Dortmund. His return to England with Manchester United in 2021. It was a starting point towards something great. That did not work out the way anyone would have liked.
Now, Forest could also be without key playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White, who has been pursued by Spurs. Therefore, a signing like Sancho could not only provide a lift in the dressing room. This move can help excite the fans as well.
The Forest board feels regular minutes in a steady environment can help push Sancho back towards his best. At only 25, time is still on his side. It will be interesting to see how this summer transfer window turns out for the English winger.
