Rashford to Face a Familiar Face Soon

Marcus Rashford set for emotional reunion with ex-Man Utd.

Barcelona Move Paves Way for Jesse Lingard Reunion

Marcus Rashford has been linked to a season-long loan to La Liga giants Barcelona.

The forward was once a fan favourite at Manchester United. But, he now finds himself on a new path after a hard time at Old Trafford. The deal is reportedly for a loan, but Barcelona have the option to buy permanently for reported valuation of £26m.

Rashford is already in Spain finalising the move, and once confirmed, he’s expected to join Barcelona’s pre-season tour in Asia. One of the highlights of that tour will be a friendly against FC Seoul. That is the current team of Jesse Lingard.

Marcus and Jesse shared the field 134 times with the Red Devils. They have played 18 times together for England as well. So, the upcoming clash will be an emotional moment for both.

LaLiga Roadblock Could Delay Official Debut For Rashford

Rashford will likely play in the pre-season friendlies. However, his official LaLiga debut may be delayed due to ongoing financial restrictions on Barca. The Catalan club is currently unable to register new players until they offload some of their existing squad to meet LaLiga’s salary cap rules. This issue has previously affected other signings. Now, this could put Rashford’s competitive debut on hold.

Barcelona have still agreed to pay Rashford’s full £325k-per-week wage during the loan spell. This shows their belief he can bounce back. Fans might be excited at the prospect of seeing Rashford in a Barca shirt, but patience is likely required.

The reunion with Lingard could be the perfect warm-up, before he gets a real chance to shine again. For the time being, Rashford will be working back into form. He will be taking full advantage of this new beginnings in Spain.
