Chelsea are now in advanced discussions for personal terms, multiple sources have said, with negotiations set to start soon with Leipzig about the structure of the potential deal. Leipzig could consider another loan or even cash in for the right price, thought to be around £55-60m. Xavi Simons has shown strong interest in the Chelsea project, especially with the promise of first-team football and Champions League involvement.
Jorrel Hato Talks Underway With Ajax
Alongside Simons, Chelsea have begun formal talks with Ajax over 18-year-old defensive prodigy Jorrell Hato, who is already captain of the Ajax team. Able to play at centre-back or left-back, Hato has already surpassed the 100-mark for senior games and is one of the best young talents of the Eredivisie.
Chelsea have held direct talks with Ajax and the early readings are that the Dutch club are prepared to do business at the £40-45m mark, down from their initial £60m valuation. With Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern also in the mix, Chelsea are looking to pounce early before pre-season goes into overdrive.
