Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens is ready to make a move to Manchester United. The PL side is now working behind the scenes to secure a summer deal.
Red Devils Step Up Goalkeeper Hunt
Manchester Utd have officially made an enquiry to Royal Antwerp for Senne Lammens. This comes following a green light from head coach Ruben Amorim, as per Centre Devils.
Meanwhile, there’s uncertainty surrounding the futures of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. Man Utd are aiming to add to their options in goal. Lammens has been scouted and is receiving interest from clubs across Europe. The 6ft 5 shot-stopper has performed well in Belgium. Reportedly, he wants to join the English giants. So, it won’t be an issue to agree personal terms with the club.
Amorim is said to be a fan of the keeper. The manager feels he can be a very dependable long-term option in the squad. Antwerp are open to cashing in on their star keeper this summer as well. Given that, Utd’s approach could soon turn into formal talks.
Lammens Dreaming of United
For Lammens, the move to the Red Devils is more than just a step up. It’s a dream come true for him. As per reports, the Belgian has already given his approval for the transfer. That said, it is now up to the two clubs to work out the details. The deal depends on Utd finding a buyer for Altay Bayindir. He is keen for regular minutes and could be moved on in the coming weeks.
The Red Devils are also balancing their books through player exits. Names like Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Alejandro Garnacho all reportedly on the market. Marcus Rashford has already gone on loan to Barcelona. The La Liga side is covering his full wages as well.
Though United also explored a move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez. But, their bid was turned down. With focus now on Lammens, a new goalkeeping chapter could begin soon at Old Trafford.
