The Bees were already on the back foot after losing Bryan Mbeumo in a major £71m deal. Their hopes of strengthening with Gueye seemed promising until United and even Burnley entered the race. This has turned a quiet pursuit into a full-on bidding war.

The Metz forward has made a splash in France since joining from Senegalese side Generation Foot in January. Gueye arrived in Ligue 1 without any European football experience. But, he wasted no time making an impact.

He scored his first goal for Metz just days after making his debut. The match was historic for him. However, he suffered a facial injury and required surgery.

Red Devils’ Showing Long-Term Vision

Meanwhile, Brentford see Gueye as someone who can make an early impact. That is especially with Yoane Wissa also expected to leave. Manchester Utd view him as a future star who needs time to develop. That difference could play a key role in Gueye’s decision.

The Bees’ are ready to match Metz’s £15m price tag and offer him a faster path to PL action. Although, Utd’s reputation and training environment remain a strong pull for young talent. Meanwhile, Burnley and Borussia Dortmund are keeping a close eye as well. The Clarets are offering another quick route to senior football.

Gueye’s name is already known beyond club level too. He was recently a part of the Senegal squad that surprisingly defeated England 3-1. With a number of clubs circling, the talented forward will have a big decision to make soon.
