Gyokeres Reveals Why He Picked Arsenal Over United

Emiliano Martínez

Viktor Gyokeres shares why he chose Arsenal over Man United transfer. The striker has recently signed for the Gunners.

Why Gyokeres Chose Arsenal Over United

Viktor Gyokeres has opened up about his decision to join Arsenal instead of Manchester Utd. This comes despite having the chance to reunite with his former boss Ruben Amorim.

The forward from Sporting CP became one of the biggest signings of the window. He sealed a five-year deal with the Gunners. Although, the Red Devils made a serious push for the striker, Gyokeres explained that something about Arsenal simply felt right.

After completing the move to North London, the player shared his thoughts through an interview. He said “I just felt that it was the right club for me.

“When I was playing against Arsenal last season, I could really feel it was a very strong team and very difficult to play against.

“That made me choose Arsenal, and of course all the history the club has and the massive fanbase.” he said during his unveiling.

It seems the history, ambition, and energy at the Emirates won him over. The decision comes as a blow to Man Utd fans. However, Gyokeres chose to follow his instincts rather than past connections.

A New Chapter Begins at Emirates

Gyokeres is well-versed in the ways of English football. He has played at Brighton, Swansea and Coventry previously to this. He’s going to wear the famous No14 jersey that Thierry Henry made famous at Arsenal.

Even Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta couldn’t hide that his club was “absolutely delighted” to have signed the Swede, so I wonder how quickly he will adapt.

For fans, this may provide relief after he missed the opportunity to go to Tottenham. It has provided a new beginning for Gyokeres and bold movement for the Gunners.

For Man United, they won’t care. But, if they should not look back at missing out on Gyokeres. They should and are still looking for options to improve their attacking unit.
