Ray Parlour calls for final transfer push
former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour is urging the club to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. Arsenal have certainly had a busy transfer window, already spending almost £193m.
Mikel Arteta’s squad is shaping up to mount another strong title challenge. But, Parlour believes Eze could be the missing piece. Talks between Arsenal and Palace reportedly took place in July, though the player’s £68m release clause has now expired. A deal could require movement out of the Emirates to free up funds and space. But, Parlour is convinced the playmaker’s talent makes him worth the effort.
The ex-Gunners star talked about how Arsenal are competing on various fronts this season. He thinks they will need options in the attacking third with quality and depth.
Eze may be influential
Eze has been one of the PL’s top-performing players since arriving at Palace in 2020. He has flair, vision, and directness at goal. Last season saw him score eight goals and make eight assists. That shows how he comes up with key contributions. He struck the winner in last season’s FA Cup final against Manchester City. That win also gave Palace their first major trophy.
The Englishman has the mentality to deal with big occasions. Arsenal needs someone who can turn the tide of a match with an spark of magic. He could be valuable during a tight title race and big UCL games. The Gunners already have Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli,. But, adding a player like Eze would only add another level of chaos. Parlour’s message is simple, act fast before the window shuts.
