United push for Royal Antwerp stopper

Manchester United are lining up a move for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

United eye Royal Antwerp keeper

Manchester Utd’s summer rebuild is charging ahead with the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The Slovenian striker was snapped up for around £73.7m. He comes in to lead a new-look attack alongside Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Head coach Ruben Amorim is determined to fix last season’s attacking woes. That saw the team slump to a disappointing 15th in the PL. While Sesko’s arrival addresses firepower, Man Utd’s shopping list still has room for a midfielder. Brighton’s Carlos Baleba has emerged as the prime target after an impressive season in the top flight.

Talks with the Seagulls have yet to take place. But, the Red Devils’ intent is clear, they are going all in to strengthen across the pitch.

Lammens could solve goalkeeping woes

One position under heavy scrutiny is between the sticks. Andre Onana’s poor form last season, mixed with costly errors, has prompted United to look for a goalkeeper. Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens has caught their attention after a great campaign in Belgium’s top division.

Making 30 league appearances, the keeper has also represented Belgium at youth level. That marks him as one of Europe’s most promising young goalkeepers. Meanwhile, Onana is sidelined by injury and neither Altay Bayindir nor veteran Tom Heaton convincing as starters. So, Lammens could step in to challenge for the gloves right away.

His mix of youth, experience, and confidence could be exactly what Man Utd need to steady their backline. The move would also show the club’s intent to build for long-term core of top young players. If Amorim gets his way, Lammens may soon be joining a new-look squad. The club is aiming to climb up, back to the top.
