Have you ever felt an intense feeling about something? Maybe it’s the coolest procedure of building a LEGO castle or that sneaky little trick to score in soccer! Much like that, Ruben Amorim is almost the personification of having a very definite view of how he wants his team to be playing, so much so that he hardly even listens to those who “should” matter.
Soccer Speculations about Ruben Amorim
You see, the Rubens Amorim, the teacher, er, is the soccer coach. He selects the players, makes them practice set plays, and instructs them on how to act as a coordinated team. He is a uniquely different way of doing things-referred to as a “system” in soccer jargon. That is his secret recipe for winning! He is so certain about it that he cannot even consider having a gradual alteration.”
Even the Pope?
Quite a hardship for Ruben Amorim! Somebody important might now actually tell him that his system will have to change, somebody whom he views above all else. So strongly convinced is he of his system that he flatly refuses to change it, even if the Pope told him so! There is no desire to listen to it: “This is my plan, and I’m sticking to it!”
Why Does Ruben Amorim Keep Doing That?
Why could it be that Ruben Amorim keeps doing it? Because he thinks that winning for this team will be the best way for his system to work. He has studied it, and he has established it, and he just believes in it. He’s believing in his own ideas-too much change can be disorienting to the players; imagine trying to ride a bike and every time somebody instructed you to pedal differently than before, it would be very difficult to get good at it!
Authors Opinion
Ruben is a coach who knows what he wants. He knows exactly what he wants to do, what plan he wants to carry out, and he’ll never allow any of the opposing opinions to deter him in his resolve. Here lies the moral for all: Believe in your ideas, work upon them, and never shy away from executing a plan of your own, like Ruben Amorim!
