Kava Santos: The Manchester United Summer Target

Everyone! Kava Santos was a king’s price for Manchester United. Imagine that- 30 million pounds! Thirty million cones of ice cream to them! Let’s say you have thought of how the best players are acquired for a soccer team! It’s a treasure hunt! This is the story of Manchester United searching for a goalkeeper to stand in front of the net and do his best to stop the other team from scoring.

The summer market of 2007 was really a goalkeeper-craving one, with the potential millions in their pockets looking out for great players all over the globe. There in one of such lists was Kava Santos, this potent thunderbolt of a Brazilian goalkeeper, according to sources.

£30 Million for Kava Santos?

They treasured him so much. To them, he was a gifted player who could win games. Well, here is the catch: sometimes the plan doesn’t go as intended. Kava Santos was wanted by Manchester United, but the deal did not happen. Maybe the club refused to sell him off, or probably Kava changed his mind. We never get to know all those little secrets behind the scenes!

An Alternate Plan: Enter Senne Lammens

If there were no Santos, United would have had to look somewhere else for acquisitions. It’s like wanting a toy that is not on the shelf; you go ahead and pick something that attracts you.

In the end, the goalkeepers who were found for Manchester United were perfect – in the name of Senne Lammens. Maybe not going to be that expensive as Kava Santos, yet there was so much potential that caught Manchester United’s eyes, with them thinking he could be developed into a fine keeper for them in the future.

Authors Opinion

The story, together with events, tells us that there are surely many gifted players! Anyways, Kava Santos didn’t come to play for Manchester United after all, but it is exciting to know who the other possibilities were and how decisions were made. Maybe one day soon, Santos will come back into their view again!
