Fabregas eyes shock swoop for Arsenal keeper

Cesc Fabregas has set his sights on Arsenal keeper. He is pushing to bring the Spanish goalkeeper to his Serie A side Como.

Fabregas wants Arsenal keeper for Como’s project

Arsenal’s summer rebuild under head coach Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta saw eight fresh faces arrive. Bu,t one of those recruits is already in the spotlight for a possible exit.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, signed from Chelsea for a modest fee, was seen to serve as David Raya’s backup. As per reports, Kepa is now attracting serious interest from Cesc Fabregas’s side Como. The former Gunners captain is now managing the Italian club. He knows Kepa well from their Chelsea days. He is convinced he can be the leader between the sticks for the Serie A outfit.

With UCL medals, a Europa League crown, and LaLiga success on his CV, Kepa brings pedigree that Como can rarely dream of signing. Although, the move would be a huge shock given the Spaniard only just arrived at the Emirates this summer.

Gunners unlikely to entertain early bids

For Arsenal, this is a dilemma they did not see coming. Kepa has deal that ties him down until 2028. Arteta knows the PL title race and UCL push demand depth, especially in goal. The Gunners aren’t expected to cash in mid-season, even if Como tempt them with a decent offer in January.

At 30, Kepa still has more to offer at the top level. But, his lack of minutes could push him for a new chapter. The keeper himself has spoken about having the chance to fight for titles with Arsenal.

That makes an immediate exit unlikely, but football is unpredictable. Fabregas is expected to keep pushing with Como growing stronger in Serie A. So, the lure of a starring role might just test Kepa’s patience down the line.

Author’s Opinion:

Kepa leaving Arsenal this soon feels unlikely, but Fabregas has a knack for bold moves. If Como can convince him, it would be one of Serie A’s most interesting transfers next summer.
