The West London side’s boss then granted him a debut with the first team last season as well.

Making his mark in senior football

During Chelsea’s great win over Ajax, Maresca introduced Walsh to his first UCL game. The change was made for the footballer who has youngest ever put on the club’s kit in the UCL. That shows his increasing popularity.

Besides, Walsh was introduced as a late substitution in the Lincoln match of the Carabao Cup as well. He has demonstrated his readiness for any chance that comes along. However, breaking through and getting his opportunity in the midfield at Chelsea will be no easy task. But, his talent and control tell the he is already ready for the test..

The new contract is a sign of both trust and opportunity. The West London club is feeling sure that the kid’s slow rise will go on in the next seasons.
