Chelsea set to battle Real Madrid for rising Serie A sensation

Chelsea‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ are reportedly gearing up to take on Real Madrid in a bid to sign Nico Paz, the 21-year-old talent who is impressing in Serie A with Como. The Birch Road Football source said that the Blues have made an approach for the playmaker born in Argentina who has been the best under Cesc Fabregas this season.

On the other hand, Madrid’s firm position and the player’s sentimental attachment to the Spanish giants might make it difficult for Chelsea to get him.

Paz’s Rise and Madrid’s Grip

In just ten games, Paz has emerged as one of the most eye-catching players in Serie A, recording eight goal contributions. Thanks to his technical control and composure, he has become one of the most admired young midfielders in Europe. However, despite interest from Tottenham and now Chelsea, Real Madrid are holding on to him firmly due to a £40 million buy-back clause.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed that Real view Paz as a vital part of their future and have already communicated their plans to the player. Paz, who remains determined to succeed at the Bernabeu, is confident he will return as a proven success when the time comes.

Chelsea’s Midfield Vision

Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea intend to recruit the most suitable players able to creatively work and control the ball in their possession-based system. Besides Paz, Morgan Rogers is still their target. Club scouts praise Paz for his creativity and tactical maturity, however, the player’s dream to play for Madrid might be an obstacle to any advancement.

Author’s Opinion

Chelsea’s interest in the player reflects intelligent recruitment on their part, but the hard hold of Real Madrid on this player makes this fight almost futile. Nevertheless, their eagerness to get hold of the best young talents at the elite level is in line with Maresca’s progressive ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌approach.
