Liverpool January Moves Could Make or Break Arne Slot’s Season

With the Liverpool title defence turning to ashes, Arne Slot is under increasing pressure. The five defeats in 11 matches have shown the flaws of the team and the Reds are now heading toward a decisive January window. To return to the chase of stability, Liverpool may as well return to big spending fresh of energy and a reset in key positions.

Midfield and Attack Targeted with Major Signings

Liverpool want to have a balanced midfield and to spark the attack. Elliot Anderson is loved for his drive, control, and intensity, but Forest are asking for £100m–£120m, which makes the move difficult. Also, Antoine Semenyo is very much on the radar. Slot praised his speed and ability to directly threaten have helped him to score six goals this season, thus, his value is obvious.

Definitely, a release clause can help Liverpool get him at around £75m. Both of them would immediately inject energy into two areas that are lacking in Liverpool.

Defensive Reshuffle Looms as Konate Exit Considered

Liverpool are in search of a centre-back who is dominant. Alessandro Bastoni is admired and estimated to be worth £88m, while Marc Guehi can also be a strong alternative. Guehi was close to signing in the summer and next year his free-agent status will make the competition tougher.

As for Konate, the question of his future is still here since his contract is about to expire. Slot may give his approval for the January sale to ensure that they don’t lose him for nothing. A defensive overhaul could be the Liverpool way to not only define their season but also secure stability for the future.
