ATK Mohun Bagan interested in Mario Mandzukic

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

The huge news is coming out that Indian Super League outfit ATK Mohun Bagan wants to sign Mario Mandzukic. Mario’s time with AC Milan is almost over, as they not going to renew his contract.

Which makes him a player without any club, and Mohun Bagan are keen to sign him. The Serie A and Juventus legends is frequently in touch with ATK Mohun Bagan.

The 35-year-old Croatian striker is still a World-class player without a doubt. Him playing for an Indian club would be a dream come true for Indian football fans.

ATK Mohun Bagan lurking around Mandzukic

There is no doubt that Mohun Bagan had a really impressive season however, they lacked something and fell short in their final round- when it mattered the most. But they played exceptionally well as this was their first season. They had a great start and were steady throughout the season. But, lost to their rival Mumbai City FC who were superior by a margin in comparison to Mohun Bagan.

The one player that was consistent throughout the season was Roy Krishna, the Fijian striker alone won 15 points for the team and made sure that ATK stays on top. Roy Krishna also won the “Hero of the league” because of his incredible contribution to the team. With 14 goals and 8 assists in the league, he was undoubtedly the best foreign striker in the league.

Now, if the rumors come true and Mandzukic joins Mohun Bagan then unarguably Mohun Bagan will have the best attack in the league. With Roy Krishna’s quick runs and Mandzukic’s aerial ability, ATK will become unstoppable

Mandzukic is strong and has tons of experience, Mario has played in the best leagues of Europe, Played for the biggest teams in the World. Has scored in the Champions League final, that too against Real Madrid. But, still, this deal far from done. Currently, there isn’t much movement about this also. But if things work out then we might see something which was impossible to even think about five years ago.
