Kylian Mbappe will not leave PSG to join Real Madrid during the January transfer window. The French International has been on the news for a move to the La Liga giants for the past couple of seasons. Mbappe has already made a name for himself due to his performances for his club and country. He was a very important part of the French team that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The 23-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of this campaign. He has the liberty to sign a pre-contract with Real Madrid if he wants to, during the winter transfer window. The Los Blancos did try to sign Mbappe on the deadline day of the summer transfer window in 2021. Real Madrid made numerous bids of €160 Million, €170 Million, and €200 Million respectively, but they received no response from the PSG hierarchy.

Mbappe has been Real Madrid’s top transfer target for multiple seasons. The club has been carefully managing its spending spree with no transfer fees paid on first-team players since 2019. Meanwhile, the departures of Raphael Varane and Martin Odegaard this summer will help them prepare a bid for Mbappe. With his contract expiring in less than 6 months, the Frenchman can join Real Madrid for free.

Real Madrid pushed hard for his signing when he left his former club Monaco. The Frenchman won Ligue 1 and reached the Champions League semifinals in 2016-17 with his former Ligue 1 outfit. Later he decided to join PSG in a €180m deal, which still stands as a world-record fee for a teenager. The world cup winner has scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in 24 appearances this season. Mbappe is currently Paris Saint-Germain’s top scorer and provider the campaign. Moreover, he was crowned player of the year at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony.

“No, I’m not joining Real Madrid in January. In January it’s not happening. I’m with Paris Saint-Germain, I’m really happy and I will 100 per cent finish the season as PSG player. I’ll give everything to win with Paris all titles this year.”

said Mbappe while speaking to CNN

“The only thing on my mind is to beat Real Madrid in Champions League. We are ready and I am ready to play and give everything for PSG.”

Real Madrid remains the frontrunner for his signature and PSG will need to strike a deal with the Frenchman soon or risk losing their prized asset for free at the end of the season.
