Brazilian wonderkid

Despite the 4-2 defeat of Real Madrid, Girona manager Michel Sanchez has praised Vinicius Junior. Even after suffering racial abuse during the match, Vinicius put in an impressive performance for Real Madrid. He scored a goal and provided an assist in the 4-2 defeat to Girona. Girona manager Michel Sanchez spoke highly of Vinicius, acknowledging his impact on the game.

After the match, Michel spoke to Marca and praised Vinicius Junior for his attacking abilities. He stated that there are few players like him who can take on defenders. He said:

“When Vinicius saw the yellow card I told Arnau that he was not going to disconnect. I told Vinicius that we needed to foul him so many times because he is so good.”

“He never disconnects, although his gestures may seem like he is, but Vinicius is still focused on the game. He does not stop challenging you, he does not stop launching into runs. I don’t know how much effort he puts into a match. He makes 200 runs and efforts during the match. He obligates you [to be vigilant] the whole match.”

How did Vinicius Junior criticise the referee?

Vinicius Junior has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the level of protection he receives from referees. He even took to Twitter to criticize the referee after Girona’s match against Real Madrid. Throughout the season, the Brazilian has been the most-fouled player in Europe’s top five leagues, and has often been targeted by opposition defenders. Some view Michel’s praise of Vinicius Junior attacking abilities as a reflection of the nature of football – players who are particularly effective, such as Ronaldinho, Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo, tend to be fouled more frequently.

Whatever Vinicius Junior is enjoying a terrific season and will like to triumph on their Copa Del Rey final. They also have a tough fixture against Manchester Ciy in the UCL and people will hope Vinicius to play a big part.
