Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is exploring the option of selling Gabriel Jesus this transfer window.
Andrea Berta Considering To Sell Injury-Prone Forward
Arsenal are weighing up the option of selling Gabriel Jesus as per Hand of Arsenal.
Last season, the Gunners reached the UCL semi-finals and finished the Premier League at second for the third time in last three campaigns. However, they ended the season trophyless. Now, head coach Mikel Arteta has the pressure to deliver trophies again.
The team has improved key positions, but it seems the focus is now on the forward line. They have recently signed Viktor Gyokeres. So, Jesus’s role in the squad may shrink. He was once a key part of the team. However, the attacker has suffered from numerous injuries and an ACL setback ruled him out of the end of the season.
Jesus joined Arsenal in 2022 from Manchester City. He supplied experience, energy and work rate, but his reoccuring injuries are raising a flag. That will give the club cause to consider cashing in on him while he can still have decent value. At £265,000 a week he currently sits in a top salary bracket for the club. And that wage could be better invested elsewhere.
Interest Growing as Arsenal Plan for New Frontline
As per Hand of Arsenal, Andrea Berta has been testing the waters. Multiple clubs from Europe and Brazil are keeping an eye on Jesus’ situation. Meanwhile, Gyokeres is set to take the spot in the lineup next season. That said, Jesus’ game time could be minimal, making it appealing for everyone to find a move.
Arteta is fully focused on ending the Gunners’ trophy draught. So, moving on from Jesus is an important step if he feels like he is not able to provide what he needs. If the interest in the player becomes serious, the club will likely make the move.
