Arsenal chase Barcelona rising star

Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Barcelona over a possible move for midfielder Fermin Lopez this summer.

Gunners push for Fermin amid growing interest

Arsenal is keeping a close eye on Barcelona star Fermin Lopez, as per Sebastien Vidal. The club has already made contact with the La Liga giants to discuss a potential move.

Lopez has been making his name at Camp Nou. He is a regular in the first team. He signed a long-term deal running until 2029. The deal has a release clause of £437m as well.

However, due to Barca‘s financial issues, everything is not as settled for Lopez as it looks. That said, clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are looking into the player’s situation. Arsenal’s attempts to sign the talented playmaker is part of a future plan. They want to continue to add more depth to the midfield.

Barcelona star drawing interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United

Barca will likely want to keep Fermin at the club. But, their financial worries could push them into listening to offers before the transfer window closes. The player was a regular over the last two seasons and has already played 88 games in that time.

Arsenal’s midfield has taken on a big change this summer. Players like Jorginho and Thomas Partey and others have left the club. Mikel Arteta sees Fermin in a long-term project.

But, the North London side aren’t the only club from the PL interested in the player. So, they may have to make their move fast to land the Spanish player during this summer transfer window.

Barcelona will likely soon decide on their player’s future at the club. For now, it seems Barca will agree to look at offers to raise funds. The Gunners could potentially get another good player from La Liga.
