Arsenal monitor La Liga midfielder
Arsenal has put Spain on the map, and the very first player they are eying is Javi Guerra from Valencia. The 22 years old is a skilled player was raised at Villarreal’s youth school before joining Valencia in 2019.
At present, he is getting through as one of the reliable U21 players of the squad. Guerra has sometimes even been described as Valencia’s top asset.
Spanish media is also reporting that Arsenal have taken note of his rise. The North London side sees him as a player who can adapt to the PL especially with its intensity.
The financial problems that Valencia have been dealing with lately, are one of the reasons why the club is rumored to be ready to sell the midfielder. His release clause is set at ÂŁ88m. But, the club may be ready to discuss a deal of around ÂŁ22m.
This is the amount that Arsenal may think is right considering his potential and age. Meanwhile, the player is eager to develop his career. Given that, a move to London might help him to present his skills to the audience of bigger size.
Midfield rebuild continues
Mikel Arteta has put it at the top of his list to recruit players for his midfield that are capable of doing the same job or even more than the current players. The player he has in mind, Guerra, can be that one, as he would not only improve the team’s balance and, thus, their position in the league but also make the team’s future secure by his presence.
Arsenal has a transfer policy of investing in youth but combined with the acquisition of already recognized players. Accordingly, Guerra’s technical and tactical skills would perfectly fit Arteta’s system.
Author’s opinion:
Javi Guerra would be a smart addition for Arsenal. He is ready for Arteta’s system and provided he tries to be on top of his fitness levels. If the price tag is maintained at ÂŁ22 million, this could become a bargain.
