Reports suggest Arsenal are keeping a close watch on German youngster.
German youngster on Arsenal radar
According to recent reports, Arsenal are tracking Kennet Eichhorn. The teen player is a midfielder of 16 years and is seen as one of the emerging players in Germany.
The boy has been practicing at the academy of Hertha Berlin. He has not only left his mark on the senior team but also been seen as a key player by coach Stefan Leitl. The player’s young age has never been an issue in his showing of extraordinary maturity at the top level of football.
In this season he has been a starter in total nine matches across all competitions. His composure and play-making ability in the center of the field made him a frequent discussion topic of one of the most promising young players in Germany.
Battle among English giants
Arsenal aren’t the only club keeping tabs on Eichhorn. As per the German media, Man Utd and Liverpool have been following the player’s development as well. That said, it is now a rivalry between the great English clubs in the winter transfer window.
For Arsenal, bringing in Eichhorn would mean that they are still on the same path of signing young stars. The North London side are working with a focus on the future players. It is very likely that the Gunners’ scouts are watching him closely at the moment. Although, they are not going to take an official step as yet. Mikel Arteta’s side knows that the local rivals could make the price go up and the attention even more.
Author’s opinion:
Eichhorn looks like the kind of player Arsenal’s project thrives on. He is young, technical, and fearless. If they move quickly, he could be another gem in their youth-driven rebuild. But, waiting too long might let their rivals steal a march.
