Arsenal Negotiations not started for the winger deal

Arsenal

Arsenal is in talks for the upcoming talent and Belgian winger Johan Bakayok however the discussions are yet to reach ‘concrete’ negotiations.

The PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayok is sparking interest and gaining attention from many clubs this summer. The Belgian footballer is called an ‘incredible’ talent by teammate Romelu Lukaku and Fabrizio Romano suggests him to be one of the most talented wingers available right now in the market.

Although this all favours Bakayok the negotiations with the Arsenal side for the winger are yet to reach any concrete negotiations. As suggested by Romano, the North London club is yet to start the negotiations.

Regardless, the 21-year-old is all set to have a busy summer ahead. Bakayok made his debut with the PSV side back in 2022.

Earlier, the Liverpool side also indicated some interest in the winger. Liverpool’s new boss Arne Slot has already known the winger during his time in the Netherlands. This would be the second year in a row that the young talent garnered attention and interest from the Premier League. Reports indicate that Bakayok is available in the market for £43m.

The young talent is being compared to other Belgian talents like Jeremy Doku and Lois Openda.

Regardless, Romano indicates that it would be ‘too early’ to speculate. He wonders whether the English club Arsenal wants a new winger next to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossar, and Gabriel Martinell. So the club will take its time to think about the deal.

Deal ‘Not Imminent’ for Bakayok: Romano

Romano believes that Arsenal is taking its time to decide for the Belgian winger:

“I saw these links, but at the moment I have no confirmation anything is advanced or concrete at this stage between Arsenal and Bakayoko. He’s been scouted by several clubs. He is, for sure, one of the most talented wingers available on the market.

“But at the moment, Arsenal have not started a concrete negotiation with the player or with the club for Bakayoko, so it’s still early.

“I think Arsenal will take their time before deciding what they want to do in that position. But at the moment, for Bakayoko, it is not something imminent or something close.”

Following the disappointing miss at winning the Premier League, the Arsenal side would be looking to once again go all out in the transfer market this summer. Last year also the club made a new personal transfer record after signing, Declan Rice. This means we could still be hoping for a summer of quite high spending although the start says otherwise.

Arsenal striker set to leave

Meanwhile, the future of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is all but set to end at the Gunners. Reports confirm the departure of the Englishman following a very tough season with the side.

The 25-year-old performance was sub-par finding the net only five times in 27 appearances. This along with the rather insufficient game time under Manager Mikel Arteta made things worse for the 25-year-old.

Reports indicate other Premier League sides like Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Fulham are keeping an eye out for Nketiah. On the other hand, Arsenal looks to add a new attacker to their side. The Gunners are already on the lookout for new young talents like Nico Williams.
