According to David Ornstein, Arsenal are close to signing Valencia defender Christhian Mosquera.

Arsenal Push Ahead with Mosquera Deal

Arsenal are moving fast in this transfer window. Christhian Mosquera is looking set to be their next signing. The Gunners are in talks with Valencia to bring the young defender to the Emirates, as per David Ornstein.

The player is entering the last year of his deal in Spain. Given that, Arsenal saw an opening. The PL side’s initial offer was turned down. Now, they’ve returned to the table and are now close to finalising a deal. The Gunners clearly see him as a long-term investment in their backline.

The defender has reportedly agreed to personal terms as well. That means the only piece left is for both clubs to shake hands on a fee. Arsenal’s backline is in need of fresh faces.

Kieran Tierney is already left the club. Both Zinchenko and Kiwior linked with moves away. The club had earlier chased Dean Huijsen. However, he chose Real Madrid. That leaves Mosquera as Mikel Arteta’s main target in defence.

Busy Summer Continues for Mikel Arteta

Arsenal are having a very busy transfer window this time. The Gunners have already made deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard. They are showing real intent in the market.

On top of that, a deal has been agreed for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres after long talks. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is also going to join this window.

The North London side have a strong mix of experience and youth. They look determined to go all-in this season after three straight second-place finishes in the league. The Mosquera deal is very close. It is going to be a smart addition to the squad being shaped to finally win the title next season.
