Arsenal stars of Nigerian descent join senior training

Arsenal coach has invited three promising youngsters with Nigerian roots for first team training.

Nigerian rising talents earns Arsenal trust

The youth system of Arsenal has been given a massive boost by their head coach Mikel Arteta. This week, he has allowed three teenage players of Nigerian descent to train with the first team.

Before the London derby, the senior training is taking place. Included in the squad are 17-year-old Ife Ibrahim and 18-year-old Daniel Oyetunde. Both players displayed their capabilities in training.

Ibrahim has even taken part in various competitions of higher age groups. He was part of PL 2, EFL Cup, and UEFA Youth League as well. Besides, his top performances made it possible for him to play for England U18 national team.

In the meantime, Oyetunde was offered a first pro contract few months back. He has now entered the Arsenal’s developmental team and is working hard to make a name in his career.

Young star returns after early promise

Another teenage talent, Andre Harriman-Annous, is also training under Arteta after the international break. The young player went along with the senior team to Anfield in August as well. He is still being considered by the head coach.

The slow but sure growth of the player is a sign of Arsenal’s regular work in the development of talented kids coming from different backgrounds. The participation of these three young players points to the deep Nigerian connection of the club.

Meanwhile, Arteta had a training session with Saka and Eberechi Eze back from England’s duty. He is mixing youth and experience. That is a clear sign of the club’s bright future.
