Nelson Weiper on Arsenal Radar Amid Striker Hunt
Arsenal are closely following Mainz striker Nelson Weiper. They are looking to add new faces to their attacking options this summer.
The Gunners are expected to be one of the busiest clubs this summer. Weiper is seen as a strong long-term investment. He has the power up front, with great finishing. He has been grabbing the interest of many PL clubs during the U21 European Championships.
Arsenal are not the only club tracking the player. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford are also interested. It appears to be a tough race for the German forward. The attacker is currently valued around €14m. Mikel Arteta is in works to bring depth and a fresh set of legs up front. So, Weiper is a top example of a developing player that would learn at the Emirates.
Premier League Move On The Cards
As far as Weiper is concerned, joining a big club is a major step in one’s footballing career. Arsenal’s options in attack are rather limited with their starting players. They are also linked with Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.
If both players join the Gunners this summer, the German forward would be able to learn a lot. Weiper has a great mix of in born talent, big game mentality. He has the experience at international level as well.
Clubs in the Premier League are interested and a very cheap deal is on the table. Given that, Arsenal should move quickly to land him before others. If Weiper can adjust to English football, this deal could turn out to be a real steal in the coming years for the North London side.
