Arsenal wants £50 million for Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah - Arsenal

Arsenal wants £50 million for their striker Eddie Nketiah which has shocked many including businessman Simon Jordan.

Eddie Nketiah has not been that impressive at Arsenal. In 116 appearances, he managed to score only 19 goals. For a striker, this statistic is very shameful and horrible. Meanwhile, Arsenal have actually put up a price of £50 million on him which is actually ridiculous. Without any doubt, it seems that the 25 year old will be leaving the Gunners this summer. If he renews his contract with Arsenal again, it will be a waste of his talent.

It is now pretty obvious that German striker Kai Havertz will start almost every match in the starting 11. The German is in a great shape and he already has scored his first goal in this year’s Euro. Even if the Gunners don’t buy any strikers in this summer transfer window, they would still have Gabriel Jesus who will replace Havertz. Nketiah will be wasting his time at Arsenal if he renews his contract.

Is Nketiah worth £50 million

There have been many questions directed at Arsenal regarding the valuation of Nketiah. Many disagree with the fact that he is worth £50 million because his performances on the pitch doesn’t support it. For a striker who has scored only five goals and provided two assists is not worth it.

Ex-Crystal Palace chairman, media personality and businessman Simon Jordan was astounded after when he heard the news. He completely disagreed with Arsenal in putting a price tag of £50 million on Eddie Nketiah.

“There’s one thing paying for old rope but this is… you’re stretching a bit far. He’s not a £50m footballer, I mean, he’s lucky to be a £30m footballer and on £100,000-a-week!”

Nketiah played his debut for the Gunners back in 2017 and scored his first goal a month later. But since then, he played for the Gunners for 7 years only to score 18 more goals. However, there are clubs who are monitoring the situation.
