Arteta Planning To Replace Arsenal Winger

Reports suggest the Mikel Arteta is looking to replace Arsenal ace ahead of the new season.

Martinelli Under Pressure as Arsenal & Arteta Eye Upgrades

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta seems ready to refresh his attacking line this summer, with Gabriel Martinelli’s future uncertain.

Martinelli has been a crowd favourite since arriving at the club. But, he is starting to worry the club over his poor form. They were unable to return the PL title to North London for the third time. Now, they understand they should have more magic in the final third.

Martinelli’s latest showing during their pre-season match against AC Milan only added to the issue. Meanwhile, Milan’s Rafael Leao showed every bit of sharp movement and vision you’d expect.

Although, the Gunners‘ winger looked out of rhythm, pace, confidence or impact. His speed remains an important asset, but it is rarely used with any right form of intent. So, his form in key games is starting to wear thin.

New Signings Signal a Shift in Arteta’s Plans

Arsenal have already made bold moves in the transfer market. The upcoming arrival of Viktor Gyokeres for the 2025/26 season has fans excited. The surprise £52m signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea has caught plenty of attention.

Arteta clearly wants to add fresh attacking talent. These transfers show that they are looking to add even more quality. Given that, there is a very real possibility Martinelli will lose his place in the starting IX. There is still time for movements before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Arteta knows that if the Gunners have to break their two-decade wait for the a league title. For that, they need players that will show up week in and week out. Although, Martinelli has had bright moments. But, the club may feel it’s time to invest in proven quality.

If a decent offer comes in this summer, Arsenal might just cash in. They will fully commit to their new attacking unit.
