Reports suggest Levante striker has set his sights on joining Barcelona if the chance comes. The Catalan giants, who might soon need a new striker, could be his next big step.
Hansi Flick looking for a new attacker
Barcelona is looking at options for a new striker for next summer. The problem is simple, money. Financial issues have made it tough for Barca to go after big names like Julian Alvarez or Serhou Guirassy. Both are well out of their current price range.
This is where the name Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong enters the frame. The player from Cameroon moved from Villarreal to Levante for a fee around €3m, which looks a great deal now. Villarreal have inserted a buy-back option and therefore a sell-on clause. They know the kid had ability.
Since arriving, Etta Eyong’s mix of pace, movement, and finishing has quickly made him one of the most promising young forwards in La Liga.
🚨 JUST IN: Barça are still interested in the Cameroonian striker Karl Etta Eyong, as per Diario Sport.

Levante striker eyeing Barcelona move
Despite Barcelona showing interest earlier, they couldn’t make the deal happen because of their salary cap issues. Yet, as per reports, Etta Eyong was ready to put any other offer on hold for Barca. That feeling hasn’t changed. Etta Eyong still dreams of wearing the Blaugrana shirt. That is even though the price tag has now jumped to around €30m. That is ten times what Levante paid.
The big question is whether Barcelona can take that kind of financial risk. Etta Eyong has notched up five goals and three assists in merely eight matches. He has made clear that his form is no fluke. Although, backing a young striker on one season alone would be a brave move. However, if you buy into the player’s potential as a good forward, this could be a rare one for going cheap.
Author’s Opinion:
Etta Eyong looks like the real deal. He is hungry, confident, and technically sharp. If Barcelona can sort their finances, this move makes sense. Sometimes, the smartest buys aren’t the most expensive ones.
