Chelsea have successfully reached the final of Fifa Club World Cup. Enzo Maresca is having a very good first season with the Blues. The Italian coach has now opened up about whom amongst Real Madrid and PSG he prefers to face in final.
Chelsea appointed Enzo Maresca as the head coach last summer. The Italian boss started doing a very good job. Later, he had some bad luck due to which the Blues were unsure about ending in top four. But, they managed to do that and will be back in UCL next season.
On the other hand, Chelsea were superb in Conference League. They became the first ever club to win all three European trophies. Later, they travelled to USA with high hopes for CWC. So far, they have enjoyed a very good tournament under Maresca’s guidance.
Last night, Chelsea defeated Fluminense in CWC semi-final. Their latest signing Joao Pedro scored twice in 60 minutes to end his former club’s journey. The Blues have now reached the final and will have to wait to see whom they will face. Amidst this, Maresca was asked who will he prefer to face in final.
Chelsea boss opens up about CWC final
The Blues will face either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in the final. Both clubs are European heavyweights. Madrid are looking very good under Xabi Alonso whereas PSG have just been crowned as Champions of Europe. Hence, the Blues will surely have to work hard in order to defeat any of them.
“They are both top teams. One won the Champions League this season, the other one last season. They are top teams but we are proud and we are happy to be there” – Maresca told DAZN at full-time.
Maresca has refused to give his preference ahead of final. He has praised both Real Madrid and PSG. The Italian boss is very proud of the Blues. He hopes that the last game of the season will crown them as World Champions.
