Chelsea have shared many players with their sister club Strasbourg in recent years. They are once again in negotiations for a young full-back. But this time, the talks are about sending the Blues star permanently to French side.
Chelsea and Strasbourg are both owned by same owners. This has helped the Blues a lot in recent seasons. They send their young players on loan at French club. Later, they opt to bring them back if they impress in Ligue 1. Otherwise, they sell or keep the players at Strasbourg.
This time, Andrey Santos has joined the Blues from Strasbourg. The Brazilian has impressed a lot at France. He is now having good time in USA for Chelsea in the CWC. Despite him plays as sub, he is expected to stay with the Blues for the next season.
Chelsea are now in negotiations with Strasbourg for another player. This time it is regarding 19 year old fullback who has came through Chelsea’s academy. The Blues are expected to sell him permamently despite handing the player new contract in April.
Chelsea to send 19 year old full-back to Strasbourg?
The star in question here is Ishe Samuels-Smith. He is 19 year old English full-back who mainly plays on left side. He signed a new contract with Chelsea until 2031 only in April. But just after 3 months he is linked with permanent exit from West London.
According to L’Equipe, Chelsea are in negotiations with Strasbourg for Samuels-Smith. The 19 year old is likely to join the French club on permanent deal. He is expected to cost €6 million. However, some other clubs are also showing interest to sign him on loan.
Samuels-Smith has not yet played for Chelsea’s first team. But, he could have received opportunity this season. Renato Veiga and Ben Chilwell are likely to leave due to which Cucurella will be the only natural left-back. This could have handed Samuels-Smith a chance to establish himself as Spaniard’s backup.
