Chelsea preparing coaching opportunity for club legend

Chelsea making way for a former player and club legend to join their coaching ranks in the near future.

Club legend still linked with Chelsea

Chelsea have a long history of keeping a string bond with former player and managers. It seems that with Enzo Maresca this bond has already been strengthened.

When Maresca received a red card during the match with Liverpool, Willy Caballero became the new team leader. He led the Blues against Nottingham Forest. His capability to provide calmness and experience during a stressful time was a great help. The Blues’ leadership has certainly recognized that “experienced” players give insight that may not just be tactical.

There’s plenty of potential in this new vibrant group of players at Chelsea Football Club. On the downside, often, due to the lack of experience they have, they end up losing key games. A mentor who has seen it all in world-class football could help to bring that divide between talent and experience.

Thiago Silva seen as a natural fit

When discussing the potential future coaches, the name Thiago Silva is the one that comes to mind. At 41, the Brazilian is still playing for Fluminense, but he shares a strong bond with the West London team. He recently come up against his old team in the semi finals of the Club World Cup.

It’s claimed that Chelsea are prepared to take Silva back once he retires. They are aware of his calmness and authority he has brought to the Bridge.

Author’s Opinion:

If Thiago Silva were to be added to the coaching team it would be a real genius move by the Blues. The presence of his expertise and his quality as a person will bring the best out of the younger players. Also, it will help the club’s history become even stronger.
