Chelsea Reportedly Eyeing Surprise Move for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish - Manchester City

Reports suggest that Chelsea are thinking about a surprising move for Manchester City player Jack Grealish. They have already had talks within the club about the possibility of signing him.

Chelsea has ambitious plans for the summer transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino wants to add a new defender, winger, and striker to the team.

There’s growing uncertainty about Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge, but it seems like the club’s leaders agree with him about which areas of the team need improvement.

Journalist Simon Phillips suggests that Chelsea is seriously thinking about making a move for Grealish in the next few weeks.

“Another winger I am told has been internally discussed at Chelsea recently, is Manchester City’s Jack Grealish,”

“The 28-year-old has been linked with a return to his former club Aston Villa in recent weeks, and due to his bit-part role at City, there is a belief in the industry that he will be available for transfer this summer and also, he is likely to be open to moving to another club where he will have a more important role at.”

“Chelsea have good transfer relations with City and of course, have signed Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer from them in recent years, both at reasonable fees.”

he wrote on his Substack page.

Interest in Grealish: Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Atletico Madrid

Grealish hasn’t been playing regularly for Pep Guardiola’s team this season. He’s only started 10 Premier League games so far. With Jeremy Doku joining Manchester City, Grealish’s playing time has reduced even more, leading to rumors that he might leave the team. Chelsea wants to sign a new winger to replace or improve Raheem Sterling, who isn’t part of their long-term plans.

Grealish could be a valuable addition to Chelsea, but Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid are also interested in him.

Manchester City bought Grealish for £100 million in 2021, making him the most expensive Premier League player at the time. However, he hasn’t performed as expected, and there are talks that Manchester City might sell him this summer.

Before Chelsea can make any more expensive signings, they need to sell some players. Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah, and Armando Broja (who is on loan at Fulham) are some players who might leave the club.
