Chelsea rocked by setbacks ahead of crucial Turf Moor showdown

The challenge of a visit to Turf Moor by Chelsea has been elevated by a sizable injury list that Enzo Maresca has to manage. The team may be so short of the players that up to 11 of them could be missing the match that will be held before a demanding week of fixtures.

Chelsea’s Deepening Fitness Concerns

Following‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ a groin injury that occurred in September, Cole Palmer is still recovering. It‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ is anticipated that he will come back shortly, however, I do not think that he will be playing on the field for the game on Saturday. Once more, Pedro Neto has been seen training on the pitch but there are still doubts concerning his ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌fitness.

Enzo Fernandez is nursing a knee injury and thus, he will only be judged quite close to the game. Romeo Lavia cannot recover from a thigh injury. Badiashile and Essugo are still not in shape, while Colwill will be out for the entire season due to an ACL injury. Mudryk is still serving his suspension.

Burnley Struggle With Their Own Absences

Scott Parker is not without problems either. Zeki Amdouni is still far from return due to an ACL injury. Additionally,‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Jordan Beyer as well as Connor Roberts are watching the game from the sidelines. Without these players, Burnley is exposed to the danger of not having the sufficient depth that may be required for a home game with high ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌stakes.

Author’s View

The London side still have the best chance of winning the match in my opinion. Thus, the unfortunate events in the treatment room may cause the player personnel to be changed by Maresca ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌again. Burnley could take advantage of the situation by attacking the unsettled combinations. Even so, Chelsea squad being of a higher quality should be able to cope with the challenge at Turf ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Moor.
