One Chelsea star is wanted by their Premier League rivals this summer. The player has given green light to the move. The Blues have gentlemen’s agreement with the club to let him leave.
Chelsea are currently busy in the Club World Cup. They have reached the final and will face PSG on sunday. The Blues are focused on the final but are also active in the transfer market. As of now, they are focused on selling their current players to raise funds and comply with PSR.
Chelsea star ready to join Premier League rivals
The star in question here is 25 year old Djordje Petrovic. He is Serbian keeper who joined the Blues in summer 2023. But, he was unable to impress at West London due to which he was sent on loan last season to Strasbourg. Petrovic was superb for French club but was unable to convince Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea are likely to sign a new keeper this summer. Hence, Petrovic is unlikely to have future at Stamford Bridge. He is already dropped from CWC squad. Now, the Blues have reached gentlemen’s agreement with Serbian keeper. This will allow him to leave for £25 million.
Bournemouth are keen to sign Petrovic as their new keeper. They had Kepa as their main keeper last season but he has left upon expiry of loan deal. Hence, the Cherries are interested to sign another keeper from Chelsea and this time on permanent basis.
Bournemouth have already sent an official bid for Petrovic. Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the player has already given green light to join them. The Cherries are confident to land him and final green light from Chelsea is expected soon.
It will be a very good signing for Bournemouth. Petrovic is 25 years old and will be a long-term investment. He was one of the best keepers in Ligue 1 last season. Lastly, he will now hope to redeem himself in Premier League by carrying the same top form.
