Chelsea vs Wolves: Blues Seek Momentum Before Break

On the eve of the November break in the international schedule, the‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍ Chelsea vs Wolves match will take place at Stamford Bridge. It will be the West London club’s final game before the departure of ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌players.

Enzo Maresca’s team, after a 2-2 exhausting away draw in Baku against Qarabag, will try to return to their rhythm and close the point gap in the top half of the table. However, Wolves are in town amid a scandal of the dismissal of their head coach Vitor ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Pereira.

Chelsea Seek Stability Amid Injuries

The Blues have managed to get 17 points out of ten league games, and they have played well at times when the inconsistency has been their downfall. The trio of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, and Romeo Lavia are still out, and Pedro Neto’s fitness will be a late call.

Maresca disclosed that Lavia had just got himself a new injury, which they were trying to pinpoint, and he described it as “a shame” since the player had been very cautious. Chelsea‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ have been impressive at home under the stadium lights as they have not lost any of the nine matches they have played in the evening at 7:45 p.m. or later.

Wolves in Transition

Wolves have failed to secure a league victory and have accumulated only two points, with their goals tally standing at just ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌six. After the departure of Pereira, Academy coaches James Collins and Richard Walker are to assume temporary charge. The visitors have not been good at the Bridge from where they have won only once in the Premier League era.

Author’s Opinion

Chelsea should make the most of the Wolves’ situation and their instability to gain some momentum before the international break. A home victory which has become a habit for Chelsea could go a long way in bringing back the fans’ trust and lowering the pressure that is mounting on ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Maresca.
