Defender was tempted by Madrid’s call
William Saliba recently confessed he was tempted to join Real Madrid before deciding to be in North London for the long-term. Talking to French broadcaster Telefoot, Saliba revealed just how difficult it was to turn down one of football’s great clubs. His comments took many fans by surprise especially after he extended his stay at Arsenal with a long-term deal through 2030.

Saliba came to Arsenal in 2019 when he made the deal with the old head coach Unai Emery. Though, it was three years after that he secured his position in the first team. He has already become one of the most perfect centre-backs in Europe.
A player, however, who is so down to earth, the temptation of Real Madrid is still very hard to resist. His comments is not a form of disloyalty. It is simply the expectation from a young player aware of his rise in the footballing world.
