Eriksen Turns Down Wrexham Move

Christian Eriksen was in shock transfer talks to join Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham. The Dane was approached after his Manchester United exit.

Wrexham’s Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are not slowing down after their side’s great rise to the Championship. The club made the news again, having just recently been promoted back-to-back to the Football League. As per The Mail, they were in conversations with Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen is a free agent after leaving Manchester Utd at the end of his contract. Wrexham are hoping to make a mark in England’s second tier. They had reached out to Eriksen with an eye-catching deals of the summer.

The former Man Utd player was once considered among the top midfielders in world football. In the meantime, Eriksen’s name is being linked with a Championship side. According to reports, the talks were real, and Eriksen was reportedly impressed by the club’s project.

Midfielder Looks Elsewhere for Next Move

Though, Wrexham have their intentions to make a move, Eriksen is believed to be holding out for a PL team at the moment. He wants to keep playing at the highest level as he can.

The Dane has played for Ajax, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Brentford and most recently, Manchester United where he has played in excess of 100 appearances for the Red Devils. In addition, he has won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and he wants more at the highest level.

Meanwhile, there are reports that he has big offers from Saudi Arabia, the USA, Brazil and Turkey as well. His signing for Wrexham would have been a great headline in the media. Also, it would be a good move for the Championship too. However, Christian Eriksen looks likely to follow other contracts that are more in line with where he is headed at this point in his career.
