Footballing world prays for Alan Hansen

Liverpool and Scotland legend Alan Hansen is fighting for his life right now. The 69 years old recently shared a health update which left the footballing world in shock. On 9th June, Liverpool also confirmed that Alan Hansen is seriously ill and is admitted to the hospital. Many footballing legends have reacted to this horrific news and wish quick recovery for Alan Hansen.

The whole Merseyside, right now, are united in this situation. Few days ago, Everton fans lost their club legend Kevin Campbell who was suffering badly in hospital. During that time, keeping their rivalry aside, both sides of Merseyside were praying and hoping for the best outcome. This time, they have come together again to wish quick recovery for Alan Hansen.

The world’s reaction to Alan Hansen’s health situation

The footballing world were heavily shocked when they heard news of Alan Hansen. Fans on X, formerly Twitter, were sharing the precious moments inside and outside the field. Graeme Souness, an ex-teammate from Liverpool, was pretty depressed after he met with Hansen.

He is in the fight of his life right now and we should all say a little prayer for him.

These were the first words Souness uttered first when asked about Alan Hansen’s situation.

He remembered his days of playing alongside Hansen. According to Souness, he was one of the best center half footballers of that generation. He added that it’ll take a lot of time to find someone who would say anything negative regarding Alan Hansen.

Football legends Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer also did react to Alan Hansen’s health news. By the look on their face, it was evident that they were not doing well and felt quite depressed after hearing this news.

“We know his character. We know he is a fighter; we know how tough he is. So, we’re thinking of you big man and we’re with you and we’re hoping and we’re praying for you.”

Alan Hansen’s time as a player

Alan Hansen was regarded as one of the best center half players of his time. He was loved and adored by the people of Scotland. All his life, he played for only two teams – Patrick Thistle for four years and 14 years at Liverpool. He won the Scottish league with Patrick Thistle in the 1975/76 season. With Liverpool, he won numerous trophies which included 8 first division leagues, 2 F.A Cups, 4 League cups, 3 European Cup, now known as UEFA Champions League, and a UEFA Super Cup.

He was definitely one of the best players who came from Scotland. Hope he recovers very soon.
