West Ham preparing bid to sign former Chelsea winger. The Hammers are lining up a surprise swoop for former Blues player.
West Ham tracking former Chelsea winger
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t wasted time since taking charge of West Ham. As per reports, the new Hammers’ boss wants to pursue Christian Pulisic.
The winger joined AC Milan after leaving Chelsea in 2023. His spell at the Blues was disappointing. But, after scoring 17 goals last season in Italy, he has rebuilt his reputation. He has helped his side sit at the top of Serie A, after winning against Napoli.
That turnaround explains why Nuno is so keen. He wants more direct pace and goals from wide areas. The boss knows Jarrod Bowen can’t carry the whole attack on his shoulders. For a side flirting with the wrong end of the table, Pulisic’s speed and unpredictability would be a major lift.
A deal that looks unlikely
AC Milan see Pulisic as central to their title push and he’s tied down until 2027. The American scored in their win over Napoli and has quickly become a fan favorite. Convincing him to leave a Serie A title chase for a relegation fight in East London looks far-fetched.
Meanwhile, West Ham are open to moving on James Ward-Prowse to bring in more creativity. But, landing Pulisic feels like aiming too high. Still, the ambition shows Nuno is serious about reshaping this team rather than simply treading water.
Even if this deal never happens, the message is clear, West Ham want proven quality. The club won’t settle for safe or steady signings.
Author’s Opinion:
Pulisic back in the PL would be interesting move. But, West Ham might be swinging for a target out of reach. Still, the intent from Nuno is promising, fans should expect more bold moves ahead.
