Arsenal are struggling to sell Reiss Nelson as Fulham return with another loan proposal for the injury-hit winger.
No Buyers for Reiss Nelson as Fulham Circle Again
Arsenal‘s Reiss Nelson could be heading out on loan once more for the new season. Fulham is showing renewed interest in the player.
His short loan spell ended early due to a hamstring injury. Nelson’s hope of staying at Arsenal remains limited. Plenty of the Gunners’ first team players are expected to leave in the next few weeks. This comes despite participating in pre-season training with the squad in Spain.
Fulham head coach Marco Silva is still a huge fan of Nelson. He wants to bring him back to Craven Cottage. However, they are looking for another loan deal.
Injury Record Blocks Permanent Move
The main roadblock to selling Nelson lies in his fitness history. He has had several injuries, including the most recent hamstring surgery. The winger has reason to be careful. He has two years remaining on his contract. So, the clubs seem to be keeping their distance on a permanent sale.
It may be more possible to think about a loan that has a future buy options, rather than as a full transfer. There is no doubt in Nelson’s potential. The fans will always remember his last minute winner against Bournemouth during the fight for the title.
Though, he is a fan and teammate favourite, a full-time sale is difficult in this market with such a stop-start career. The North London side will now face the challenge of moving on from a top player. He shows great promise but he has not had the regular fitness to match his potential to level up his game.
For now, another loan move appears to be the only way forward for the player.
