Reports suggest striker Rasmus Hojlund is keen on reuniting with Atalanta after a tough spell in England.
United Open to Letting Striker Leave
Manchester United are making changes in their attacking options this summer. That said, Rasmus Hojlund could find himself as one of the first players out.
The young Dane’s arrival last summer was filled with high expectations. He finished the season with only 10 goals, and a few inconsistent performances along the way. He was unable to show to new head coach Ruben Amorim that he deserved to be an important player.
Amorim gave Hojlund with plenty of opportunities. But, now he has moved on, and is looking to bring in a new attacking player. The club have even signaled that they are open to loaning Hojlund this summer. The move will have an option of a future sale included. They will pay a chunk of the wages associated with the move as well.
Italian teams such as Juventus and Inter have expressed interest in the player. But, the club leading the charge is Atalanta, his previous club.
Atalanta Ready to Welcome Hojlund Back
Atalanta could be the perfect place for Hojlund to restart his career. The Italian side is already familiar with him, and he previously flourished under their system. Meanwhile, other top Serie A sides have deep squads with a lot of competition up front.
Atalanta continue to focus on growing young talent. They can offer Hojlund regular playing time and a defined role. His agents have been in contact with the Serie A side to assist with the transfer. The discussions are likely to extend into August.
For Red Devils, selling the Dane on a structured deal could help raise funds for new arrivals. That will give the player a shot at finding form as well. For Atalanta, itās a low-risk move to bring back a striker who knows their style inside out. If things go to plan, this reunion could work wonders for both sides.
