Gabriel Jesus may be on his to Brazil after falling down the pecking order at Arsenal.
Exit talks grow after striker’s injury and replacement
Arsenal have been very busy during this summer transfer window. Now, the exits may just be getting started.
Gabriel Jesus, who joined from Manchester City three years ago, looks set to be heading for the door. The Brazilian striker has been out of action since January. That is due to picking up an ACL injury during an FA Cup clash with Manchester United.
Although, he made a strong impact when fit. But, his time in the starting lineup appears over following the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede has been brought in to lead the line under head coach Mikel Arteta. That means Jesus will likely get limited minutes at the North London side.
Brazil return on the cards for Gabi Jesus
As per Football Insider, a move back to Brazil is the most likely option for Jesus. Meanwhile, clubs from across Europe are monitoring the situation. But, insiders suggest Brazilian sides are best positioned to make a serious move.
Reportedly, Arsenal are open to offers. They are hoping to collect some amount of the fee they originally paid for the forward. With several top Brazilian clubs interested, a deal could become reality if interest turns into firm bids.
However, that being said, Jesus is still working through the recovery from his injury. So there won’t be any movement until later in the window. But for now, it is as much a waiting game as it is anything else.
All the signs point towards a possible return home for the player. This summer seems like it will be the end of his time at Arsenal. It would be a perfect venue for him to have a clean slate to help get himself back to his top level.
