Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has officially closed the door on his Chelsea career after penning emotional farewell post. The Gunners ace said: Memories to last a lifetime. Thanks for everything @ChelseaFC. It brought the curtain down on a brief but eventful stint in west London. The midfielder has now started a new journey. Thousands of fans and ex-teammates supported his message in minutes with likes and comments.
A Year of Glory in Blue
Dewsbury-Hall joined Chelsea from Leicester City in July 2024. He cost around £30million. The Spaniard joined up with ex-Foxes manager Enzo Maresca. His time at Stamford Bridge was over after just one season despite signing a six-year deal. In the Premier League, he played 13 times and there only two starts. But it was in the cups where his strikes most told.
The defender was even regular in their Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World win with 4 goals and 3 assists in Europe whilst playing a key role during the club’s title runs. But long-term chances were limited by the emergence of Dario Essugo and Andrey Santos in midfield.
This summer, Dewsbury-Hall make a permanent switch to Everton for £25m, an amount potentially rising to the region of £29m with add-ons. With a deal that runs until June 2030 signed, Everton fans are hoping his presence can add some midfield creativity and drive for the current Toffees side.
Teammates rally around Dewsbury-Hall’s farewell
The Instagram farewell sparked warm reactions from Chelsea players. Club captain Reece James dropped in with a heartfelt, “Good luck ma boy,” while Cole Palmer added, “what a guy man, all the best bro.”
Dewsbury-Hall may have been at Chelsea for a short period but leaves with two trophies and many admirers. His departure also comes with a heart of thanksgiving. Another swings in at Everton for a clean page and bigger part. That fight, flair and professionalism is an image Chelsea fans have been left to cherish.
