Kiwior considering exit plans at Arsenal

Jakub Kiwior is now weighing up his future at Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s plans may limit his playing time.

Lack of game time at Arsenal leaves Kiwior uncertain

Jakub Kiwior is reportedly open to leaving Arsenal this summer. He is eager for more time playing.

He left Spezia for Arsenal in January 2023, and so far the defender has shown quality. He played his part when Gabriel was injured last season. Although, he has seen limited action, spending most of the time on the bench.

The Gunners already have William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, meaning Kiwior is bound to have limited chances to start games regularly. Boss Mikel Arteta likes him as he can play at both centre-back and left-back.

But, the head coach has not been able to offer him the regular starts. As per Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have already knocked back an offer from a Portuguese side earlier in July. But, the situation is still wide open at the moment.

Interest grows as defender worried for his future

Arteta supposedly wants Kiwior to remain part of the squad. But, the opportunity for Kiwior to leave could be up to the player. A number of clubs in Europe are monitoring his situation. If the right offer comes into Arsenal or Kiwior wants regular football elsewhere, an exit may happen.

The Polish defender was a great backup last season. He often saved the day in key moments, but he is now seriously weighing up what to do next. The window is open for now until September 1. So, Arsenal will have to really assess whether to give Kiwior more game time or let him leave.

As it stands there is no offer on the table as of yet. But, if a good offer comes in, or Kiwior pushes to leave then anything could happen quickly. The key for the club now is to manage getting the right balance between squad strength as well as Kiwior’s stance.
